El Faro de Lastres

El Faro del Cabo de Lastres es uno de esos lugares de Asturias a los que he estado unido a él desde muy pequeño. Siempre recordaré aquellas mañanas de vacaciones o de fin de semana caminando acantilado abajo con mi padre para ir a pescar o recoger algunos fruits de mer. Y por supuesto tampoco olvidaré el terror que nos provocaba la posibilidad de encontrarnos con la Guardia Civil esperándonos junto al faro a nuestro regreso!

En la actualidad el faro se ha hecho muy famoso -al igual que la villa de Lastres- por haber acogido el rodaje de la serie Doctor Mateo 2009 - 2011. Llegar hasta él (en coche) es muy sencillo ya que se encuentra muy próximo a Lastres y está bien indicado. Además dispone de una pequeña zona donde aparcar el coche, ya que tal y cómo indica la señalización los últimos metros se deben recorrer a pie ante la imposibilidad de espacio para aparcar junto al faro.

  Cape Lastres Lighthouse is one of those places in Asturias to which I've been attached to it since very young. I will always remember those mornings of holidays and weekend cliff walking down with my father to go fishing or pick shellfish. And of course I won't forget the terror that caused us the opportunity to meet with the Guardia Civil by the lighthouse waiting for us on our return!

Today the beacon has become very famous -like Lastres Village- for hosting the filming of Doctor Mateo series (based on English Doc Martin series) from 2009 to 2011. Reach it (by car) is very simple since it is very close to Lastres and is well signposted. It also has a small area to park the car as it indicates as signaling the last meters must walk the impossibility of parking space next to the lighthouse.

Finally,  all the photographs in this post were taken with La Sardina Lomography - Lomography 400 ISO film.

Madrid

Madrid es una de esas ciudades que nunca me canso de visitar y siempre tengo ganas de volver. Además sé  que en algún momento de mi vida viviré en ella.

Sus calles abarrotadas, su gente y su manera de reinventarse me apasionan. Ver cómo cambia la ciudad tan rápido de unas semanas a otras mientras paseas por sus calles y descubres nuevos locales, tiendas, bares de copas. O todo lo contrario seguir encontrándote con los mismos comercios de toda la vida.

¡Madrid está viva y es vida!

En unas horas recorreré los 466 Km que me separan de la capital en busca de un respiro, un camino, un futuro.

¡Prometo volver con la maleta llena de fotos y novedades!

Mientras tanto os dejo unas cuantas fotos que hice con La Sardina en mi última visita a Madrid (Diciembre)

Madrid is one of those cities that I never tire of visiting and I have always wanted to return. I also know that it is a city where I'm going to live at some point in my life.

Its crowded streets, people and their way of reinventing I'm passionate about. Observe how the city changes so quickly from a few weeks to other as you stroll through the streets and discovering new stores, shops, bars. Or the opposite finding how the same stores still follow there.

Madrid is alive, is life!

Within hours I'm going to cover the 466 Km that separate me from the capital. In search of a breathe, a way, a future.

I will return with my suitcase full of pictures and news!

Faro San Juan

El faro de San Juan (Avilés) es sin duda uno de mis rincones favoritos de Asturias. En general los faros me han llamado mucho la atención desde pequeño, quizás por su soledad en esos altos acantilados, por el sonido de las olas rompiendo a sus pies, por su luz proyectada en la oscuridad del Cantábrico. Para mí son edificios llenos de misterio y cada vez que visito uno me pregunto cuáles serán las historias que albergará en su interior…. tempestades, leyendas marinas, relatos de balleneros…..

Llegar al faro de San Juan es muy sencillo desde Avilés (por la AS-329), cuenta con buenos accesos y aparcamiento. Una vez ahí podréis contemplar una buenísima estampa de la rasa asturiana, especialmente de Salinas, su sistema dunar y sus arenales. Además es habitual avistar a última hora de la tarde barcos pesqueros que salen a faenar. Otra buena opción es pasear por los múltiples senderos que lo rodean - es un lugar muy tranquilo a pesar de que su popularidad aumentara ligeramente desde que Woody Allen rodara aquí una escena de la película Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona (2008) - .

Si tenéis la oportunidad no dejéis de visitarlo, realmente merece la pena. Os lo dice un lobo de mar urbanita.

The lighthouse of San Juan (Avilés, Spain) is definitely one of my favorite places of Asturias. Overall the lighthouses have drawn me much attention since I was a child, perhaps because of its solitude in these high cliffs, the sound of the waves crashing at its feet, the projected light in the darkness of Cantabrian Sea. To me they are buildings full of mystery and every time I visit one I wonder what kind of  stories will house  inside.... storms, sea legends, stories of whalers .....

Arrive at the San Juan lighthouse is easy from Avilés (for AS-329), has good access and car park. Once there you can gaze a great view of the asturian coast, especially of Salinas, and its sand dune system. Besides in this place is usual catch a sight of fishing vessels going to labor late in the afternoon. Other nice option is to walk along the many trails that surround it - is a very quiet place although its popularity has increased slightly since Woody Allen shot here a scene of the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) - .

If you have the chance won't fail to visit it, really worth it. Tells you an urban seawolf.
